Yet another catch-up post
Published -
Things were going well for the first part of Blaugust, then I got a visit from my black dog and he didn't duck off for two weeks. Since then I've been trying to take things slowly to build back up, so this blog had to take a backseat.
Any who, I'm back and this post is just to catch you up with an extended WeekMonth Notes.
📓 Notes
Seeing as Blaugust 2025 is over, lets start there. I managed 9 posts and got the bronze award.
- 01-Intro-To-Reality (1 Aug 2025)
Standard Introduce yourself post, I might use this as my about page, I think it does a better job of letting people know what I'm about. - 02-Brand-new-start (2 Aug 2025)
A rambling stream of consciousness about creating myPOSSE and how I suck at designing things. - 03-break-stuff (3 Aug 2025)
An outline of what went into adding OpenGraph to the site. - 04-week-notes-2025-31 (4 Aug 2025)
The usual Week Notes post. - 05-Enter-sandman (9 Aug 2025)
A lazy excuse post and a note that I'd finally had it with GitHub. - 06-Say-Hello-2-Heaven (10 Aug 2025)

A replacement for the Week Notes, another list of link to share.
After that I crashed quite badly and couldn't find the energy or inclination to do anything, so I didn't. I just sat in my office and did nothing for a few days. Over time that lifted enough for me to find things to watch. Even that was an effort I had to work to overcome. But as always "This too shall pass...".
In the off time, I dropped my Friday night gaming spot. Mostly because I couldn't deal with the drama of grown men throwing a tantrum when we lost at CS-2 or the constant bitching about when people used the power-ups in Golf With Your Friends
I started looking into AvaloniaUI and have started working on a Desktop app for my blogging software. Nothing to show for it just yet but it's something I can work with.
Kelp has made it to v1🥳 and the site has been updated.
I also reinstalled my system, seeing as Linux Mint 22.2 has come out. Also I made the mistake of installing a GUI library for C# that had an automated install. The problem was that it was not fit for porpoise. I figured that I stood no chance of picking out all the crap in probably installed so Nuke and pave.
🎮 Games
I'm not the best at them but they scratch a part of my brain that likes this sort of thing.
📚 Reading
Page 327 of 540 (60%)
I really love Sir Pratchett's work, it's not just about what he writes it's that I can read it with out losing focus. I should give ratings for the books I read but all The Discworld books would just get 5 stars, Even the first two.
🎞️ Films
I'm sure there are a lot more films I just can't remember them all.
- Infinite (2021)
Can't remember who suggested it. But they were amused by the use of Cardiff as a filming location. I'm sure I'd watched it before but as soon as I spotted that the car chase was on Newport road by the admiral building I couldn't stop laughing :-) - The Vault (2021)
Freddie Highmore seems to play the same sorts of characters all the time. - Thunderbolts* (2025)
My new favourite Marvel movie - Thursday Murder Club (2025)
I don't know why I thought this was a TV series, but I need more of it. - Lilo & Stitch (2025)
Passable, Watched it, enjoyed it, didn't give it a second thought. - Nosferatu (2024) 💩
Started watching. Made it 15 minuets in and got so board I just couldn't, so I didn't. - Open Season Open Season 2
I have no idea why we started watching this but we'll probably watch the third one as well.
📺 TV
I went through all the TV series that we'd stopped watching for one reason or another. And worked out the ones I wanted us to get back to. We've made a start on some of them this month, as well as watching things that have restarted recently.
- The Big Bang Theory Season 2
This is one I'm willing to let go of for now. - Dept. Q (2025)
Very bingeable, held my attention well. - The Night Agent (2023) Season 2
Not bad for the difficult second season. - The Residence (2025) Season 1
What I'd call a fun Agatha Christie sort of thing. I liked the way statements where shown rather than told. - Resident Alien Season 1
The first Season was good once I got into it, but Season 2 wasn't holding my interest as well, I might go back to it. - Alien: Earth (2025) Episode 1
I had no intention of watch more than the first episode. I was going to wait until all of them are out, but I just had to see if it was going to be worth it. It is. - Beyond Paradise (2023) Season 3
Yay! And the last episode was so sad. 😢 - FUBAR (2023) Season 2
Silly telly at it's best. - Justified (2010) Season 1
Season 1 was goodish but Season 2 didn't grab me, I might come back to it but not hopeful. - The Umbrella Academy (2019) Season 4
I don't know why we didn't watch this when it came out, but it was good. Not sure about the 5 and Lila thing but it was inevitable in the circumstances. - The 100 (2014) Season 3
We used to watch it when it was on originally. Thought it would be a good idea to restart from the last season we remember watching so we stand a better chance of getting straight into the story. There are seven seasons all together. - Wednesday (2022) Season 2
I liked it, no notes. - The Blacklist (2013) Season 4
Another one that just dropped off our watch list, again starting from the last season we remember watching. There are ten seasons all together. - High Potential (2024) Season 1
I thought that season 2 was out but it's not and by the end of Season I really wished it was, it's really good must watch.
And so we're all caught up. I'll skip this weeks notes, and think about what I want to do as the next side quest.
Whether it's good or bad remember, "This too shall pass...", all you can do is try and Stay Lucky.
