There has been a lot of conversations around this Blaugust about comments on blogs started by Naithin @ Time to Loot. Starting with They Paved Paradise and Put Up a Static Site and then clarified with Words Can Be Enough then Blaugust in a Post-Comment-Box World and finally ended with How to Hit the Target by Missing Completely.

The thing of it is, that my audience is so small, even if I had an anonymous comments section that people could tell me what they think, by the rule of 1% I still wouldn't get any comments. That's why I opted for the mild friction of fetching them from mastodon.

And on that note here are some of the posts I've been reading recently.

  A post which takes the title of Neil's post and go off in a different direction, and I totally agree with Chris and would also say keep work off your personal phone as well if you can.

  A bit of a long read but, very stirring call to the revolution!

  Amen, brother. I've decided to keep my GitHub account but I've removed my stars and stopped watching projects, and all my projects are now public archived. I'll keep the login but I'm never going to use the service again.
