Don't get me wrong I've read books in the past. But last year I wanted to start reading more books to try and reduce my time doom scrolling. To those ends I bought a copy of "Cory Doctorow - red team blues" and I got it on Checks notes 22nd of April 2023...
OK so I failed spectacularly to "Read more" but that's not down to the book it was down to me reading the first two chapters and then just carrying it around with me for about 6 month and forgetting I had it or leaving it in the car when I do think to read it.
Until about two months ago when I had to take a trip to Manchester and was going to be spending a few hours on a train. I think I got about halfway through reading by the time I got home. Then it sat on my desk until three days ago when I picked it up on a whim and proceeded to demolish the back half of it.
It's an easy read, it helped that the comp-sci parts didn't make me grown the way it does in some forms of media, but then again I'd expect nothing less for this author. No my problem is I'm dyslexic and tend to avoid reading books in the traditional form. Few books have grabbed me to the point that I felt compelled to finish them, but this one did and I'm glad.
Any way I'm going on holiday soon so I'll have to find another book to read while I'm away. Until then send me your book recommendations.
As an added bonus I've finally written up the BookShelf page for my site.
